it sickens me to see groups of people take such a powerful and beautiful symbol of unity, freedom, and revolution and turn into a tool for divisiveness and intolerance. benjamin franklin and our founding fathers crafted these symbols and saying to UNITE the colonies, that DESPITE their differences (many being powerfully ideological and religious, motivated sometimes by personal hatred), they have to BAND TOGETHER to fight off tyranny arriving from beyond our shores. by one group using them to show independence from the government/Others; the other banishing them violently without embracing their importance and history.
I am looking to reclaim our past. to honor those founding fathers and those who fought and died for our United States of America. not a confederacy. not secession. not paramilitaries. the United States.
